What are the measurements of a single mattress?

Our TEMPUR^® single mattresses come in 3 different sizes:

• Standard single mattress (90x190cm). Also known as a ‘3 ft single’. The perfect match for your standard divan bed base.
• Small single mattress (75x200cm). Narrower, but longer than a standard single. Great for smaller spaces and little ones who aren’t ready for a ‘big bed’ just yet. Small single mattresses can also be used side-by-side on king-size beds.
• Long single mattress (90x200cm). Same width as a standard, but slightly longer. They fit perfectly side-by-side on a super king-size bed.

Adjustable beds

Adjustable bed bases have dual mechanisms that let you and your partner adjust each side of the bed independently. This is a great option if you both have different sleep needs and want to rest in different positions. Dual adjustable beds require two same-height small single or two long single mattresses, the size of which will differ depending on your bed frame.

• For a king-size frame, you'll need a pair of small singles (75x200cm).
• For a super king-size frame, you'll need a pair of long singles (90x200cm).

How to choose the right single mattress

The right single mattress for you will depend on a few factors. For example:

• Your sleep needs. Not only do our single mattresses come in 3 different sizes (small, standard, long), they also come in 4 feels (soft, medium, medium-firm, firm), so you can choose the right combination to suit your needs.
• Your bed frame. You’ll need to choose the right mattress to fit your bed frame. A standard single fits a classic single bed frame or divan, whereas two small singles would be the perfect fit for a king-size bed base. A long single is also great for taller people who need a little extra room.

What types of single mattresses are there?

What firmness is available in TEMPUR^® single mattresses?

TEMPUR^® single mattresses come in 4 different feels:

• Soft. Our lowest level of firmness. Popular with side sleepers as it reduces pressure on hips and shoulders.
• Medium. Provides a good balance. Popular with people who don’t favour one sleeping position.
• Medium-firm. A mid-point between our medium and firm feels. For those who can’t decide between the two.
• Firm. Provides our firmest level of support. Popular with front and back sleepers.

How wide is a single mattress?

A standard single mattress is 90cm wide and 190cm long. However, a small single is slightly narrower and longer, at 75cm wide and 200cm long. A long single mattress is the same width as a standard (90 cm) and the same length as a small (200cm).

Are single mattresses OK for adults?

Yes! Single mattresses are ideal for solo sleepers who want to conserve a little more space in their bedroom – they’re also great for guest rooms. Two small singles are also a good option for adjustable beds when you and your partner have different sleep needs and can fit side-by-side on an adjustable bed frame. Two long singles fit perfectly on an adjustable super king-size. Adjustable beds with two handsets are a great choice if you and your partner like to sleep in different positions.
