• Selected models come complete with an integral headboard, whilst others are an optional extra. Fittings for a UK strut or floor-standing headboard are supplied
• Resemble a classic upholstered divan bed base
• Have high-quality platform tops to optimise support.

What are the benefits of an ottoman bed?

An ottoman bed provides an efficient way to maximise your bedroom storage, while still offering a luxurious, long lasting piece of furniture. Store your spare bed linen, towels and other lightweight items out of sight to keep your home tidy. The gas lift mechanism makes it easy to raise the frame and access the storage underneath – even with a mattress on top.

For those who find lifting difficult, we also offer an ottoman with electronic lifting gears that can be operated by remote control.

What mattress should I use with an ottoman bed?

TEMPUR^® ottoman bed bases can be ordered in single, double, king or super king sizes to complement the size of your current mattress. Your ottoman bed base should fit your mattress size exactly, so don’t order one that’s too big or too small.

Are ottoman beds easy to lift?

Yes, our ottoman beds are easy to lift thanks to the gas lift mechanism. This supports the bed frame and mattress when you lift it, making it easy to access the underbed storage. At TEMPUR®, we also offer an electronic ottoman bed base, which is operated by remote control.

Why are they called ottoman beds?

Ottoman beds are named after the Ottoman Empire, which is where they were first invented. The Ottomans ruled from the 14th to the early 20th century across the Middle East and North Africa, and ottoman beds were believed to have been introduced in Europe from Turkey in the 18th century. The need for clever storage has been around for a while!

Are ottoman beds better than divan beds?

This depends on what you’re looking for in your bed base. Ottoman beds provide easy-access underbed storage so are handy if you want to maximise a smaller bedroom space. Divan beds are an excellent option if you need accessible storage in your bed frame, as they offer built in drawers that are easy to access. Divan beds are also often easier to assemble due to the smaller number of parts and mechanisms required.
