Single Size Bed Bases
In terms of area, a standard single divan bed measures 90 x 190 cm, the same size as the corresponding mattress. For those who prefer imperial sizes it may be referred to as a ‘3ft single’. Headboards generally are optional extras. But if you are buying a frame or ottoman with an integral decorative head or foot, it is likely to be larger than your mattress. Ensure you measure correctly before you place your order. There is also a second single size. Occasionally referred to as 3’0 Europeans, long single bed bases support mattresses which measure 90 x 200 cm. They are 10 cm longer than a standard UK single size. Why buy a single bed base?
Single bed bases are perfect for small children as they move from cots to their first proper bed, and are a sound investment right through to their late teens.
Long single bases are the most common size used in single adjustable beds.
As a matter of interest, static super king divan bed bases often consists of two standard long single bases linked together with bars and clips to provide solid support for a larger mattress which measures the same as two 90 200cm mattresses put side by side.
Suitable for 1 person, 3ft beds are also handy for spare single or twin guest bedrooms.
