King Size Bed Bases
King size bed frames are the most popular bed size for couples in the UK. Size matters, and in choosing a mattress which measures 150cm x 200cm, the supporting bed base means you will have more space to sleep in.In terms of sleeping area, however, you might want to consider an adjustable king instead. These bases provide the equivalent couple's sleeping space of a standard king size mattress, but with one big difference: each sleeper has their own small single mattress measuring 75cm x 200 cm. Each mattress is supported by a motorised adjustable mechanism with its own individual infra-red hand set. For that extra touch of luxury, TEMPUR® adjustable bases include massage units as standard. Why buy a king size bed base?
In a king size bed, with room to turn over and change your sleeping position, you are less likely to disturb your partner.
In America, a ‘Queen’ is the equivalent to a UK king bed base. In the Far East it may be known as a ‘Wide Double’.
Look out for hidden storage options in divan and ottoman bases.
King adjustable bed bases generally require two 75cm x 200 cm mattresses also known as small singles.
Some TEMPUR® king adjustables have frames which lock together so you can have just one 150cm x 200cm mattress if you prefer.
If you order an adjustable divan, headboards generally are optional extras.
But if you are buying a frame with an integral decorative head or foot end, it is likely to be larger than your mattresses. Ensure you measure correctly before you place your order.
